Bran Castle is a romantic tale of conflict and choices, want and peril, and slavery and salvation. Set against the backdrop of the Revolution of 1848 to free the gypsy slaves, Bran Castle sits high in the Carpathian Mountains of Eastern Europe. In a world of crystal balls and castles and gypsies and royal boyars, Mirela, a beautiful young slave girl, is caught between the desires of the Count and the jealousies of Carmilla, with whom the Count shares power, pitting Mirela’s quest for gypsy freedom against Carmilla’s eternal lust of power. As the Winter Solstice approaches the question remains as to whose wants shall prevail and who then will sit upon the throne.
